Preschool summer school Week 2

 Hi everyone!

We had such a great week in Summer school Preschool class. Our theme of the week was Sea, Sand and the Sun.


Morning meeting

We enjoyed singing our numbers, days of the week, dates, weather songs. Of course their favorite was dancing with Baby shark, Gummy bear songs.

Fine motor skills

During the summer school, the students continued working on their fine motor skills. Most of the students did a wonderful job cutting, gluing, sorting the shapes and making the patterns.




Play time, Gym time

We had a lot of fun playing with our cars, trains, puzzles, kitchen, and blocks. They of course also loved running around at the gym!








Topic themed art time

We enjoyed a lot of art activities this week!

Paper plate fish (Monday)- painting and tearing

The sun (Tuesday)- folding 

The sand castle (Thursday)- Gluing the sand

Sunglasses (Friday)- coloring


















Water play

Our favorite activity was water play! They all had a wonderful time with water guns and little bouncy balls. The weather was just perfect for the water play.














I hope the children had as much fun as we did. Enjoy the rest of the summer school!

ELC Class Week 2-Animals

Dear Sunrise Parents, We had another great week of summer school. We played a lot of games and made a lot of new friends! In math, we  arranged animals from smallest to largest. We also  counted and clipped clothespins on animal number cards. We then used the clothespins to make various animals to determine how many  were used for each of them. Based on the math video of the week, we learned that the longest snake known was Medusa so we were all excited to use clothespins to make a snake that was 25 feet, 2 inches long. Later on in the week, we looked at non-standard unit of measurement and used lego bricks to measure the height of various animals. Yuito used six clothespins to make a giraffe.  Kaito showed great confidence as he counted and matched the correct number.    Tomoki showed good hand strength as he pinched the  clothespin on the animal card.  Tomoki's attempt at making Medusa, the longest snake in the wo...

Sunflower Class Week 4: Game World

  Welcome to Game World!!! Our last week of summer school was full of adventure by delving into a world of strategy, creativity, and imagination.  Students played a variety of games, some involving some problem solving and others that were physical and required stealth.  We learned about different styles of games by playing both familiar and unfamiliar games and analyzing pros and cons of each.   At the beginning of our week students worked together to create rules and challenges based on blank board game templates.  Everyone did a great job and changed an empty game board into something fun for all ages.  After trying out a variety of new things, students divided into groups to design their own game entirely from their imagination.  Here are some of their amazing creations: Frog Life : Students worked with a program called Scratch to create a video game online.  They learned how to make and alter coding in order to design a frog jumping game...

Nursery Summer School Week2

Theme: Fairy We read Fairy Tales and did related activities everyday this week. On Monday and Tuesday, we read “The lost Fairy” by Peter Haddock Publishing and did a fairy coloring. Each of them used their favorite colors to color it. On Wednesday, we read “The three bears'' by Byron Barton and did a bear paper craft. They put some clothes on their own bears. On Thursday, we read “The Snow white” in Japanese with Ms.Yuka. We made our own dwarf. It's so cute!! On Friday, we read “The Gingerbread Man” and made our own gingerbread man. We spent our time with Preschool students every morning this week, It was very fun! We also enjoyed Water play. On Friday, we did “Juice bar” with Ms.Aya. We made our own juice. (Using paint to color water and pretend it is a juice.) Strawberry juice, Orange juice, Mango juice, Grapes juice and so on…..looks so good!! We really had a great week!
