The Finale of Summer School 2019

Wow, I had a lot of fun during summer school. For the second week, we had some returning faces from the 1st week and our theme was adventure. At first they didn't quite understand what an adventure was and kept mistaking the word for "avengers" but throughout the week during our adventure based activities they began to understand what an adventure was. I taught them by giving them examples of adventures in different forms, like sky diving, or climbing a mountain, to even an astronaut in space. These are all examples of an adventure. On Tuesday the students found a map in a bottle, the map was a detailed floor plan of the 6th floor and they had to try and find the next clue, which led to the 7th floor. So the students and I set off to the 6th floor in search of the clue, which they didn't know what it was until they saw it. The clue on the 6th floor was another map in a bottle which led to the treasure on the 7th floor. The maps eventually lead to a treasure...

Pre-Kinder and Summer school

Oh there was a lot of fun to be had during week 1 of our summer school! We had students from both Pre-Kinder A and Pre-Kinder B come together to get to know each other and have fun. Our theme this week was nature, so we learned about different parts of nature, the first day we learned about different types of flowers and did an activity where we colored, cut and pasted a flower. On tuesday we also had some fun in the pool as it was so hot! Towards the middle of the week as we were learning about bugs I hid a whole bunch of cut out bugs in the school, on many floors and the students had to go around trying to find all of the bugs. They had a blast being able to get out of the classroom and go to other parts of the school where they normally don't venture off to.
