AIS - Summer School

Hello Sunflower parents!      We had an excellent fifth week of summer school at Abroad International! This week our theme was all about camping. Students had a chance to experiment, research and share about camping  they learned while developing their English skills.      Upper primary students learned about camping and items needed for camping. We watched a movie about camps, read books about camping and tried to decide 10 most needed things needed for camping. First, students tried to guess, later on they visited library to find books about camping. All students decided that knife, matches, camp light, extra clothes, sleeping bag, tent, emergency phone are the most important items for campers.      In math we learned more mass and conversion. The idea was to estimate what was the mass of a regular camping pack, Students searched online the average mass of an item in the list . At first, the total mass became about 90kg. This week we had a great time setting up the tent and learning about camping and camping activities! We played lots of fun games and participated in trading blanket where everyone displayed their crafts and traded with each other. We made fruit leather in cooking class and learned how to calculate ratios for recipes. 

Hi everyone!  This week we did lots of fun things.  On Monday ; we started with circle time. We sang some songs and danced. Craft time we made a campfire by using the colored tissue paper. We did some coloring, danced and watched a camping cartoon movie. On Tuesday ; we sang good morning, days of the week, the month of the year and season songs. We made a big camp poster. Kids love to painting. We had the pool time. We played for about 20 munites. It was a bit windy.  As a craft, we cut the stars, moon, and campfire and we made a tent too. We stick them on the black paper. We counted 1-20. On Wednesday ; We sang the same morning songs and danced with " https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=sLMGJ9S0seE " kids loved it. As a craft, we made a campfire with the handprint.  We did some coloring. On Thursday ; We did the morning circle time. We did number color matching. As a craft, we made an owl by using construction paper. On Friday ; We sang the same songs
