Sunflower's Week 3

Hello Sunflower parents!

We had an interesting and exciting third week of summer school at Abroad International! This week we explored the theme Under the Sea. Students did some research and shared interesting things they learned and had fun working together while further developing their English skills.

Upper primary students learned about many things under the sea. One student prepared a presentation on the blob fish. Another student researched and presented on seals. We were all interested to learn about the tiger shark in a well done student presentation. The student presentations on the dumbo octopus and sea urchin were filled with interesting facts and great pictures. We also learned about two amazing deep sea fish, the dragon fish and the barrel eyed fish from student presentations.

In math we used information about the sea to practice converting units of measurement and practicing some arithmetic. We discovered how deep the ocean is and how fast certain animals swim in the ocean.

In cooking class we made cookie clams with marshmallow pearls. The students learned that when making frosting having just the right amount of ingredients can make a big difference in how it turns out

We also had a fun cooling off at the park with water two epic water fights! Students and teachers all had a great time. I hope each student had as much fun and learned as much as I did this week!
