Sunrise Week 1

Hello Sunrise Parents!

Our Sunrise class has had a great first week! We explored the theme of 'Heroes and Fairy Tales". We looked at heroes and fairy tales both from Japan but also from western cultures. One of our students shared her love of Kamen Rider as a great Japanese hero but we also discussed, Moana, Tinkerbell, Peach-boy (Momotaro), Snow White, Rainbow Dash and Hansel and Gretel.

Our Weekly project was to create a castle for our favourite heroes and fairy tail characters to live together. Which was a great success! By working together we constructed a castle, castle wall and a huge mural behind for the heroes and fairy tale characters to enjoy.

During our morning routine we all learned our morning greetings, alphabet and different kinds of weather as well as taking time to fully stretch our bodies before starting our day.

In our cooking class we made an Australian favourite party food called 'fairy bread', the girls really enjoyed making and then eating this delicious treat.

In our maths classes we created dragons by using our addition skills to solve and then colour a paint by numbers picture. Saki and Strawberry (the dragon's names) are happily playing by our castle.

Finally in our PE classes we both enjoyed a water fight in the park and some well deserved play time in our pools. The game 'SHARK' was most popular closely followed by a squirt gun fight with the teacher.

I hope you are all looking forward to next weeks' theme 'Space' as much as I am!
