Kindergarten in the summer

 Boy oh boy, it was a lot of fun seeing familiar faces as well as new faces during summer school. This year we had a lot of help from Alex, a student in Junior high.  We have a K'nex set in the classroom and Alex and a few of the students were able to put together a working carousel out of it! It was really cool. Summer school wouldn't be  summer school without drenching ourselves with water. In this kind of heat we had this year, it was a lot of fun to fill up our water gun tanks and have a blast. Our second week of summer school was built around fairies and fairytales. Both Pre-K and Kindergarten came together to work on making their own castle tower craft. It was a lot of fun throughout the week. I look forward to next year. Thank you to all the kids, especially those that joined us from outside the school. Hope to see you again next year!

Nursery Summer School Week2

Theme: Fairy We read Fairy Tales and did related activities everyday this week. On Monday and Tuesday, we read “The lost Fairy” by Peter Haddock Publishing and did a fairy coloring. Each of them used their favorite colors to color it. On Wednesday, we read “The three bears'' by Byron Barton and did a bear paper craft. They put some clothes on their own bears. On Thursday, we read “The Snow white” in Japanese with Ms.Yuka. We made our own dwarf. It's so cute!! On Friday, we read “The Gingerbread Man” and made our own gingerbread man. We spent our time with Preschool students every morning this week, It was very fun! We also enjoyed Water play. On Friday, we did “Juice bar” with Ms.Aya. We made our own juice. (Using paint to color water and pretend it is a juice.) Strawberry juice, Orange juice, Mango juice, Grapes juice and so on…..looks so good!! We really had a great week!

Preschool Summer School

 Hello! Thank you for joining our summer school!! We had a lot of fun during these weeks :) Circle time We had circle time with nursery class every morning, we learned alphabet/phonics, colors, numbers, shapes, weathers with singing and dancing the songs. Preschool students showed their motivation as big boys and girls!! Theme study We learned about "fairy" this week. Students watched the movie and made something related to those movies.  "Cinderella" - Magic wand（魔法のステッキ） "Hansel and Gretel"  - Candy house（お菓子の家）  "Peter pan" - Fairy wings（妖精の羽根） They were so focused and enjoyed each craft, also they loved to play with the candy house the whole week!! Water play We had sooooo much fun at the water play!! No one was scared of the water, enjoyed using water guns and throwing water balloons. Summer School 2022 Week 4

Week 4's Theme - Fairy The theme for Week 4 this year was Fairy. This included looking at actual fairies, of course, but also of all things fantasy and magical. Music - For music during this week the Upper Primary / Middle School worked to create their own pan flutes. This instrument was chosen for its connection to the Greek god Pan who is often depicted playing this instrument. It will take some practice before the music the students produce is magical, but they have their start! Art - For art the class had two projects. For the first they looked at artwork by Brian Froud and created their own image of fairies based loosely on his work. They then attached wings to the fairies made with paper and clear, colored plastic. For the second art project the class created dream catchers. These were done mainly with leather and waxed string. Some students attached beads, and some decided to wait and see if they could find feathers anywhere. PE / Games - For PE the students played a game ca
