Sunflower Class Week 3 - Nature

The Sunflower class has had another great week of summer school. This week we explore the theme of nature through various activities.

To start off the day, we did various circle time activities. An example of one such activity is “swap portrait.” Students had one minute to draw a part of the face of one of their classmates. When time was up, they had to swap papers with someone different and draw another specified part of the face. We did this continuously until the complete face was drawn. The results were hilarious. Another circle time game we played was called “rule change.” One student would leave that classroom and the remaining students would come up with a rule that they all had to follow. The student outside would be invited back in the classroom and try to figure out what the new rule is.

For math activity, students explored patterns that can be found in nature. We went to the park and did a nature scavenger hunt.
