Lower Primary Summer School Week 2

Hello! My name is Ms. Amanda and I was teaching your students in summer school this week! This may have been a short week, but it was full of learning and fun! Each morning we would practice our inferencing skills and listen to animal sounds or riddles and try to guess what animal they were.

During math time we practiced our math fluency and solved addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems to uncover a hidden animal themed picture.

We learned about animal adaptations and camouflage and worked to camouflaged our own animals around the classroom. We were all very creative and using disruption patterns and color to hide our animal.

We became authors and illustrators and wrote stories about our own hybrid animals. It was great to see how creative the students were and how they would combine different animals together. We even played a guessing game where another student had to guess the two animals we choose just from how we described it.

We learned about symmetry and painted our own symmetry tigers buy painting only one half of our paper and folding it over. This was hard work and it was challenging to just think of our pictures from one side! We had so much fin using paints and mixing colors to get orange!

We we thinkers, inquirers, and risk takers this week! I cannot wait to continue to grow and learn with your students next week for Sea, Sand, and Sun!
