Summer School 2020 in grades 1-3

Hello parents and students!
We had a fabulous time in the first week of summer school. We did lots of craft, such as making bracelets, necklaces and keyrings. We also did friendship bracelets and origami.

Early in the week the weather was sadly too wet to go outside, so we played some indoor games and did painting of a bird design. Our theme is the Olympics, so we also drew some of the cute mascots from the Tokyo Olympics, designed our own medals and made torches out of paper.

We did some math lessons related to sports and went to the park on Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursday we went to Amidaike park and had a water fight!

The children played well together and welcomed new students to the class. On Friday we used cute art by the US artist Charley Harper and copied his work to make animal drawings like the penguin in this photo.
